Description

Rapé Paricá is widely used in shamanic initiation, where an adept who aspires to the position of shaman – healer, falls into a trance and enters into communication with spirits. He thus acquires the abilities of a healer, counselor and seer.

Paricá is a rapé prepared from the ash of the seeds of the tree Anadenanthera peregrina, which grows to a height of 37 meters. The seeds of this tree contain a large amount of alkaloids, and therefore shamans in South America are used in various forms in sacred rituals. In traditional medicine, the bark is used as an expectorant in the treatment of inflammation of the upper respiratory tract.
