Who are the Orixá

Orixá are unearthly forces, deities that reflect the forces of nature and natural elements, their origin is in the animistic religion of the African Yoruba. We encounter their presence in nature, but equally in ourselves, because we are also a reflection of nature. Each of the Orixá governs specific phenomena, qualities and areas of our world, but in reality all Orixá are aspects of the one God, the Great Spirit Olorum or Zambi.
