These handmade maraca (shamanic rattles) are made by the Shipibo Indians of the Pucalpa region of Peru. The maracas are decorated with turquoise and bird feathers collected from the Amazon rainforest. The handle of the rattlesnake is made of Marirí liana and decorated with beaded patterns based on healing visions.
We specially selected the rattles according to the sound of the seeds inside, so that the rattlesnake has a beautiful clear and powerful sound. Maraca vary slightly in color, shape and design, all handmade by natives of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. The "shamanic rattle" is used to open and close sacred ritual spaces and also to energetically clear people and rooms.
Listen to how these maracas sound.
Apart from the drum, the rattle has always been one of the most important shamanic instruments around the world.
Length of maraca: approx. 31 cm
