Nukini, is made exclusively by the women of the tribe. It contains ash from the bark of the sacred Tsunu tree and other forest herbs. These plants are crushed by the women while singing sacred songs. This results in a beautifully fragrant Rapé, which carries with it a gentle, feminine, uplifting energy.
The composition of specific rapé are completely secret and in every Huni Kuin village this knowledge is passed down through the generations and is seen as sacred. This means that it is impossible to know the exact contents completely.
But what do we know about this Nukini Tsun rapé is that the main ingredients are ash from the bark of the sacred Tsunu tree (Platycyamus regnellii) and many Amazonian herbs.
Nukini is a tribe that is part of the Huni Kuin community. This Nukini Tsunu rapé is largely made by the women of the Nukini tribe. And almost all rapé that comes from this tribe is made by women. This sacred medicine is made right here in the Acre region of Brazil.
Rapé has a rather feminine character, awakens and brings cleansing energy and fragrance. Indians also say it balances the energies in our being and energy field. What indicates to us its strong spiritual power and nurturing feminine energy is that in Amazonian herbal tradition, the Tsunu plant is used to help with migraines, flu, fever and indigestion.
