Cedar is considered one of the most important ceremonial herbs in the traditions of the native North American Indians. It is used and smoked in moments when we want to strengthen our prayer, intention, appeal to the Great Spirit or spirits.
Cedar strengthens our prayers and wishes, also gives the possibility of summoning healing energy for situations and injuries that have happened. It is used by many tribes as a fragrant and purifying herb. It is associated especially with prayer, healing, dreams and protection from disease.

This cedar is directly from California from people who practice the traditional Teepee way, which means that cedar is consciously collected and prepared into bundles.

In the Teepee tradition carried on by North American Indians such as the Navaho, cedar is treated as one of the most sacred herbs, with one Indian being directly chosen to sit in a circle behind the herb all night and use it to fulfill the prayers of the tribe and the circle.
Indians have worked with cedar since time immemorial by having it "rolled" in a large bag and at the moment of prayer, they take a handful of cedar in the palm of their hand, call out their prayer and then throw the handful into the fire that is in the center of the Teepee and is the center of the ceremony.

In the same way, we work with cedar as a very sacred instrument, lighting and smoking cedar during our prayers or as part of a ceremony when it is necessary to return the flow to balance.
We light a bundle of cedar over a candle and after some time, when the bundle ceases to be solid, we return to the way navaho Indians have it, untie the bundle and crumble it into a bag and throw it directly into the fire with prayers.

As long as you want to use cedar in a bundle, it's a good idea to have it in a resealable, airtight bag.
If you want to crumble the bundle and use it like Navaho's Indians, just roll it into a cotton bag and throw away the large twigs.

Native Americans say that wherever we use Sage and Cedar, it will prevent evil influences and energies from entering.

Cedar, also known as the Tree of Life, Arbor Vitae, Evergreen, is often used to smudging a house before moving in, to ward off malevolent spirits and protect a person, place or object from unwanted influences.
