The Pataxo Indians are still trying to keep their traditions alive even at this time. Every month on the full moon, they perform Luacheia (Full Moon) rituals, where everyone connects with their country, with the place where they are and with themselves. An important element of their culture is their handicrafts and specially jewelry made from the seeds of local trees and shrubs. They use them as protective equipment in rituals, and also by wearing them they express respect for the spirits of their place where they live and connection with the great spirit.
