Protective bracelet Wairuru Marirí Preto

222  incl. VAT

Black simple Wairuru bracelet with two red seeds from the sacred seeds of the South American tree Huayruro (ormosia coccinea) and the flower Marirí (Ayahuasca). The seed could be described as a ''lucky seed'', but it has other traditional uses in the history of civilizations. Chroniclers mention the use of huayrura as early as pre-incais cultures, when it was mainly used for amulets and shamanic rituals.

This bracelet was specially made for us by the amazing women of the Shipibo-Konibo community in Lima, Peru, who have been maintaining their own roots line with their products for 22 long years, ever since they left the rainforest and moved to the city because there were no more fish in their rivers and so their children could go to school.

By purchasing this bracelet, you will financially support this strong and surviving Indian community in the middle of the concrete jungle!

Bracelet length: approx. 19-21cm
Fastening: by threading the seed at the end

Black simple Wairuru bracelet with two red seeds from the sacred seeds of the South American tree Huayruro (ormosia coccinea) and the flower Marirí (Ayahuasca). This tree grows only in the tropical and very humid Amazonian zones of South America and in some areas of Central America. The adult tree reaches 30 to 35 m and changes its name depending on the region - it is known as Huayruro in Peru and Bolivia, Nene or Chumico in Costa Rica.

The seed could be described as ''the seed of happiness'', but it has other traditional uses in the history of civilizations. Chroniclers mention the use of huayrura in cultures before the Incai period, when it was mainly used for amulets and rituals of shamans.

These seeds are very hard, have a typical red and black color and are considered sacred. They have protective power. Even today, huayruro is worn to induce happiness and repel all negative energies and envy. Another of its features is the unity of couples and general success. Legend has it that the wife of the ruler of the Incas, Colla, suffered from a very rare disease, described as severe sadness on the soul. Court shamans therefore advised her to wear a necklace of huayruro seeds, specially collected and treated with an intricate ritual. This therapy is said to have healed Colla.

We can clean the bracelet by immersing it in soapy water, wiping it dry and letting it dry. For greater shine, we can smear and polish a drop of oil.

However, the seed is highly toxic to humans.
