This beautiful and precisely made curipe with the hummingbird symbol was made for us in Brazil by our friend Leo.
The instrument is made of Brazilian Ipê wood (Brazilian walnut or Lapacho). All the wood grew in the wild and was harvested with great care and respect for the Meastro plantas. The kuripe is complemented by a drawing of stones and powder from the stone Chrysocolla, known in ancient cultures for its calming and nourishing power, often associated with feminine and maternal principles.
Kuripe carries the symbolism of the Beija flor ( hummingbird) and evokes purity through painting, as for Native Americans the hummingbird represents purity of heart, lightness, openness and trust in the guidance of the Great Spirit.

Leo carves his products from an extremely durable Brazilian hardwood: Ipê Wood (Tabebuia sp.) Lián Marirí makes and lets dry with great care, knowing that it is one of the most sacred plants in the indigenous traditions of the Amazon. He makes all his beautiful products with full mindfulness and with his mind connected to the Maestro Plantas and sacred prayers.

Complemented by stone inlay made with great care from chrysocolla stone (no chemical paint or artificial colouring is used).

Ipê is an extremely hard and durable exotic wood from South America, especially Brazil. Ipê has a high density and hardness and therefore has a long life.

Our friend Leo likes precise work and clean and beautiful workmanship. He uses epoxy resin in combination with Ipe wood and Chrysocolla inlay. At the end, he seals everything with wax that he makes himself. Super tough and durable. His products last a lifetime, we can attest to this ourselves after many years of using his products.

CHYSOCOLLA, or Chrysocolla a stone of great beauty and believed by some to have several healing properties, promotes meditation and communication. It is also often associated with feminine and maternal principles. It is highly recommended for energy clearing as it is said to absorb and cancel negative energies of all kinds. It has calming and harmonizing effects, aiding in emotional healing and mental clarity.

For us, chrysocolla is not only a beautiful stone but also a gift from Mother Earth. It is amazing when the art of the human hand and the soul that perceives beauty is combined with the gifts of nature and we can experience such splendour as from Leo's workshop.
