Description

Huni Kuin Mulungu is a very popular Rapé among Brazilians. It is based on the sacred Mapacho and the ashes from the tree of Erythrina Mulungu. Mulungu is a medicinal plant native to Latin America and gradually from Costa Rica to Brazil. The decoction of Mulungu’s bark has been used by the indigenous population since time immemorial as a natural sedative.

The power of this Rapé acts in the area of the heart chakra and heart, its energy is strong but soothing, warm and brings the quality of the center, peace and tranquility. It connects our being with kindness and clarity.

Erythrina mulungu, a tree up to 10 m tall, is also known in Brazil as colorines, chilicote or tzompanquahuitl, and in folk medicine, a decoction of its bark is used for depression, stress, hysteria, panic disorders, insomnia and other sleep disorders, but also for liver disease. Mulungu also lowers blood pressure and normalizes cardiac arrhythmias. As a natural sedative, it has a hepatonic effect, meaning that it tones, balances and strengthens the liver, breaks down high levels of enzymes present in the liver and sclerosis.

Mulungu has a number of biologically active substances, the most important of which are the iso flavonoids daidzein and phaseollin, and especially alkaloids. In animal experiments, a strong anxiolytic and anticonvulsant effect of mulung has been demonstrated, for which erythrin alkaloids, especially erythrin and erysotrin, are responsible.
