This bowl of gourds, called Cuia, is handmade in Brazil and decorated with engraved amazing geometric motifs.
It is made from the Cueira tree, or Calabash (Crescentia cujete), which is also known as bottled gourd, white-flowered gourd or long melon. The whole fruit is stained with plant dye before engraving and then engraved to reappear the natural color of calabasa. Vegetable dye has been used since ancient times by many indigenous people, as it is safe for food, durable, non-toxic and tasteless.

These bowls are ideal for ceremonies, especially for working with tobacco. Extract the extract by cutting a piece of mapacha into a bowl and pouring a little hot water.
